The Power of a Name — Jammie Thomas Ownership Journey

“Your name goes further than the money will. As long as I've got a name, it’s gonna keep going.”

Jammie Thomas, a name built upon the powerful reputation and conviction of the man behind it. 

For over seven years, he honed his skills as an interior painter and contractor before deciding to strike out on his own. 

Jammie’s source of inspiration? “If I can do it for them, I can do it for myself,” so in 2020, he started the paint company, EXCEL WORKS, INC.

In the beginning, he was afraid of being unable to secure enough business to sustain the company.

However, by keeping his overhead expenses low and making smart financial decisions, he built the strength of his name, preferring to market his enterprise face-to-face. 

The venture paid off, freeing him from financial worry and allowing him to focus on mentoring aspiring business owners and educating his community.

His advice? “You gotta start somewhere. If you don’t start, you get nothing from nothing. Ask plenty of questions, verify your information, and write the answers down.”
